Spirit airline tried to go ghost..lool

Hey lovies, 

Its been awhile i was here, right? Truth is, i am only here when i really really want to vent and boy! Do i really! Lol. So, i think i should start off with this; when an airline called Spirit airlines begin to manifest evil spirit traits then you need to step back and really question if the Amerikah is really deserving of the hype because truth is, even Arik Air is not this bad and as Nigerians we know the evil behind Arik Air. Lol. Truth is, i don’t think anywherr is too modern for some evil ratchetness. Enjoy..

So, the basketball team Warriors won the cup or is it championship? I apologize because basketball is not my plate of food and i love food ergo don’t know shit about it but i can name some players.lol. Back to the story.. I have been having a fairly busy couple weekends per month because of a side job i am doing for my ex-boss who is really just still my boss. Lol. Anyways, i had travelled to DC, Philly and Oakland was next then New Orleans, which i am currently on. Who would have thought it would turn out to be the worst! Its like those quiet chicks that turn out to be much more trouble than they are actually worth. I am not knocking the city’s hustle to be great, just saying. Lol

Anyways, my bad luck started with choosing to fly with Spirit airlines. Its the human in me that saw cheaper flight tickets and i had the mistake of thinking that maybe, just maybe the Amerikah would be better but did Spirit put me to shame or what? They proved that indeed sometimes, if it seems too good to be true, it usually is. My flight was from New york to Oakland, Ca with over 2hrs layover in Detroit! There, i said it! Detroit! Detroit is not a place you wanna get stuck in in the middle of the night with no back up plan. Did you know Spirit Airline charges $3 for bottle of water. $3! That is how much in Naira? Just over 400naira for a regular sized bottle of water. As Fela sang,🎵🎙waaaateeer, e no get enemy🎙🎵So, 15mins to boarding Spirit cancelled flight because wind blew. Apparently, Spirit can cancel a flight if somebody sneezes wrongly. If the wind shifts from NW to SW, Spirit will cancel their flights. If it rains in the rain forest, Spirit airlines will cancel flights. Yes! Thats how much of a scared little bitch Spirit Airlines is. I flew from Portland to Oakland in the smallest plane i have ever seen and if that tiny ass plane can flight regardless of weather then bloody Spirit airlines should be able to fly. 

This is the conniption that is Spirit airlines. Business strategy says “ultra low cost” but after they have finished charging you for baggages and what not, you might as well have booked ticket with Delta airline, American airlines, etc. Btw, their website is the most interestingly confusing but well designed website. Because its so interactive and fun, you can get sucked in and pay for what you dont want. There is this thing they call the “$9 fare club”. Trust me! Its all just a bloody ruse. Spirit regular baggage fare for 2 baggages is just over $200 but with the $9 fare club, it is $144. Like even that makes any kind of sense. Every single airline charges about $60 but apparently, Spirit airline is too abnormal for that. 

So, flight was cancelled and we had to match down a floor to figure out what our options were. Option 1 was to queue up and wait for like 20mins before the most politely nonchalant agent came out. Yes! I said politely nonchalant because that was me in 2012 when i worked at a local airline so i recognize the signs. Lol. Can’t blame her though. The job sucks the life outta you especially if Spirit probably is a crappy employer. Anyways, our options were:

1. reschedule your flight to the next available which by the way, was 24hrs later. Even Nigerian airlines know that is only something king geoffery would do. (Are you a fan of GOT? If you are not, you suck. Lol)   2. Ask for a refund on either only the cancelled flight or if you also have a return flight, you can cancel that that too and ask for a refund. 

I went with option 1. Reschedule me albeit 24hrs later. It actually took them almost 2hrs to get their shit together and sort us out. So i decided to book a hotel for the night and be back the next they for my flight but lo and behold! 6pm the next day, flight was cancelled. I didnt even get angry because that is an expensive emotion Spirit can’t afford. I just took myself and my baggage and went to book a flight with Delta airlines. It was a connecting flight so i had to sleep at the airport in Portland! Portland, people! On getting to Portland, i decided to call Spirit airline customer care and just cancel any flights i had with them and get a refund. Can’t put almost $1000 on tickets that wont even depart and NOT get a refund. Going, returning even future flights i had planned. Lol. Anyways, i spent 2 days! 2 days between New york and Oakland because Spirit airlines is scared of its own shadow.

I don’t care how bloody cheap you are, if you are going to charge me money then you better give me good service because there is not enough cheap tickets for such crappy service especially in the service industry. All that anger had me writing about Spirit airlines for a class strategic business assessment paper. From this day on, if i encounter anything with Spirit in the name or title, i will actively avoid it at all cost.
